trolling motor cuts out

I have a minn kota trolling motor and after 5 minutes or so of trolling it turns itself off. then a few moments later back on again. Not too fun when fighting a drift or the current. It had a push button reset circuit breaker and I replaced it. No change. I took the motor apart and it looks like new inside.
Has anyone else experienced this?

Your problem could be a capacitor, inside the motor, that is in place to protect it from overheating. Someone familiar with electronics could be more specific and you might want to check the Minn Kota website to see if there is a troubleshooting guide.
