Yes, have a big board set-up and use the weldon release but with rubber bands to connect them to the line, depending on the day and waves its a red or light brown rubber band. we check often like every 20 min or so to make sure there is no junk dragging but with plugs, speed is usually at 2.0-2.4 and to fast for white bass.at least with running plugs it seams to be less junk, Our leadcore rods have 50' leaders and mono backing, so when you let them out all leader, leadcore, than another 50'-75'and clip to board line.

yes lead is run on the boards, I have two rods with five color, one with six, and another with seven, they do run off boards well, also I try weight to be the same on each side of boat than change as needed so one side may run deeper.

yes, a five color set up is all colors out plus 50-75' and than hooked to the board, six is just going a little deeper and seven more, about five ft. per color.
