It is ABSOLUTLY NOT TRUE the DEC just started the comment period on the limit change. If it gets passed (and it should) it will start on October 1st 2012 at the begining of the new license year. That was one of the things they talked about at The State Of The Lake Meeting last month.

Default 2012 walleye season start for me

my first rpt. here on this site - i was out on sat. night from 9 pm - 3 pm, lots of boats (needed a traffic light), i was able to land 2. question is it polite to pull board within a pack of boats? - seems crazy to me and looks like more work than its worth (my 2-cents).

Just my 2 cents but boards are a pain in a pack of boats & at night it would seem a real big pain I would think hard to see . jmo.

I am hoping to run boards even if only 25ft off sides with glow sticks on them i wouldnt want to try long lining them that could cause a mess.

    Default board lines

Board lines are not required when fishing at nite. It is a pain for the person running the boards and for the boats that are working the same water . they are hard to see. I dont care what you do to them to make them easier to see.

IMO boards are fine to use, when used with a little common sense.

Super heavy boat traffic in-tight, then leave them in the boat. Sparse to moderate traffic, go ahead use them a reasonable distance from the boat and with adequate lighting.

In general, when using boards be more defensive to avoid potential run-ins, and if possible stay just outside the pack edge (has a added benefit ).

A bigger problem than pulling boards at night is when everyone is trolling in different directions vs. an orderly set of trolling lines.

The fishing off of hamburg is good right now. Caught 5, the biggest was a 25.5" male. Black and silver floating rapalas in 6 FOW.

I was out sat night. Those couple guys pulling inline boards with glowsticks on them were making more work for themselves. Way to many boats and first timers out there sat. They barely had the boards 15ft off the boat. Rods out the side would have been just as effective.
