    Default Wide load permit

well after getting pulled over on the way home last fall decided to get a permit 100.00 and some paper work you also have to send them proof of 500,000 liability insurance. permit is good for 1 year you also have to put tow vehicle and plate # on permit not sure how that would work if you use a different truck and get checked

Billy Joe...I've wondered about the permitting process with Ohio law. What is the width limit that necessitates the permit? I have heard it said that up around the lake they'll usually cut you some slack if you're just moving in or out of storage or going for repairs, I hope that's true. Good luck with your move. Thank you.

Just wondering what kind of boat you have? I was looking last fall for a dock for this upcoming season and all the people I asked about trailering in a 27 Sportcraft said they don't bother you? Really makes me wonder now....

We have a 280 proline offshore. 10.5 beam, last time we towed it, it was the same. But they told us what roads we would go and when we could tow it.

I would bet if you had to use a different tow vehicle just a phone call to let them know and update the records would be enough. But if you have questions now I would ask early

Sometimes it is just the luck, my 27 bow rider is 9.5 wide we just pulled it the same way they tell us to take the proline and on the same times. Made it up with no issues. It's not coming back unless something.major goes wrong.

I pulled it all the way from SC with no permits, maybe I got lucky

i towed my 10' 28' sea ray from new Hampshire to Muncie in then towed it from Muncie to Geneva ohio without a permit. but i was a little dense about towing a wide load. but i didn't have any problems with the cops. but then i found out about all the rules that goes with towing a wide load. so i sold the big boat and got a smaller boat.
