Now we've moved on to "how the line is in the clip".... Yes, very important! I wish I was at the boat today, I could give you a picture of my clips - set up to be "customer-proof"! Basically, we've started with the standard Pilgrim Clip... throw away the shower curtain ring. We've added a swivel, keyring, and caribiner. With the swivel, clips can't be put on the towline "upside down" or "twisted", this will cause you massive headaches every time! I also add a rubber band around the clip part, about 1/4 of the way on the pads. This tightens the clip, and provides a stop point for the line going in the clip. The caribiner makes it super easy to snap onto the towline with one hand. Not to mention, the caribiners slide down the towline way better than the shower curtain rings...

We've been doing it this way for years, seems to be catching on, we're selling a metric a$$ ton of our clip setups nowadays!

Captain Eric, sounds like your clips are same as pooh bear.Yes,the way they work are better than anything else ive seen and very few problems with them getting stuck on tow line or having beginners having problems.I eventually was able to construct that clip with components I found online.

What size swivel did you have to use to get it to fit on the carabineer? I can't find a single size chart online that shows the inside dimensions of the eyes, only the lb test and overall length of the swivels. I'm also curious, are you putting the keyrings through both eyes of the pilgrim clips or just one of them? The keyrings I have are only 1" and hold the clip open.

I don't think he was talking about putting the swivel over the carabineer, i think he is using a key ring to go over the carabineer, the swivel goes on the round key ring.

I could have understood this wrong, but it's how I pictured it when I read through

Thanks! I can't seem to find bulk keyrings that are 1 1/4" or larger. I think that's what it'll take.
