Tuesday started trolling bandits N of Kellys in 40 fow. After about 30 minutes with no action we decided to pick up and move. Reeled in all 4 lines and found 3 short walleyes swimming along. Tattle flags still straight up. No clue. Don't know what was wrong with the other one. Wrong color I guess. So we decided to switch to casting. Moved west of Kelleys in 35 fow and to walleyes were there. Walleye KinderCare. Caught around 40 with only 4 short keepers. Ten to one. Tried the same area Wednesday thinking that if we caught enough of em we would get a bunch of keepers. Wrong. Kept count with the perch counter. Got 60 walleyes and only one was a keeper. 18 inches. With only one day remaining we had to try something different so we moved east of Kelleys into 40 plus fow and trolled spoons. Finally on to something. Found some good fish 18 to 22 inches in the top 15 ft . Ran out of time but ended with 7 keepers. A lot of shorts out there as well but a good day. There are a lot of fish in the lake and the fishing is only going to get better. The wind had laid down so we had a long smooth ride back to east harbor. Try again in a week or so.
