Jet divers or Tru Trips are a nice option as opposed to Dipsy's as they float if you have to stop. In line weights are good to and easy to find dive charts with a simple google search. With inline weights you also have the sinking when stopped problem. Probably your cheapest option though.

Here is a couple things to use as a reference one is for weight and one for true trip 40. Hope this helps you out.

Check out Offshore tackle Tadpoles #1 & 2, much better than inline weight in my opinion. They pull better behind boards because they are lighter and they trip when you get a fish on.

I prefer the inline/redneck weights over tad poles. Tadpoles seem to tangle more when checking your back boards for a small fish. Dipsey was out best past 3 days. Put a bell on the rod and you don't even have to watch it.

Having been using tadpole #2 also past 3 seasons and love them.Have had very few problems with tangles. The only problem with any sinker is they sink when slow down.If fishing over Rocky, shallow water can snag bottom on inside turns, fishing close to bottom or letting board out.I just ordered some Tru trip 30 to use when using harness in shallow, rocky water .Was trolling last fall on a rocky reef in Canada and was catching a few bigger fish on bandits but was slow.Tried to put out a harness but was lucky I didn't lose it.Tried my tadpole, then 1 oz and one without any weight. If had a Tru trip, could have fished there.

The tadpoles #2 bottoms out at about 28ft, so they can be used virtually anywhere west of bass islands. If fishing in deeper than that I use a 3oz sinker that is shaped and colored like a fish. Can get those at Bass pro shop. The 3oz sinkers work ok with my Offshore inline boards, but anything more negativity affects your board. We use size #33 rubber bands on boards with the flag that goes down. You want that flag to be upright with just enough force so that anything that gets stuck like weed or small fish, you know it.Think best to get that taggle flag that goes down.Have used the 40 Tru trips on our inline boards, but pull to hard and had problems with them.
