    I set my Humminbird 898 so the Trip log box is always visible on screen (located in setup menu). This is detailed on pages 127 & 128 of the 160 page owners manual lol. Then just go back into the setup menu & reset it when you launch or when you want to start over. It only becomes tricky if you want to display the trip log on the navigation screen as only box #1 can be selected, the others are preset. All other screens allow user selection of the 5 boxes (I think lol). Only a few button clicks to learn 😎 Good luck
