Fishing Out of Lorain/Vermilion on 10/15

Finally bringing the boat back from the Western Basin this weekend. Trailered out there for the past 2 months to load the freezer up with perch. Caught a ton of limits out there almost every weekend.

Tired of the long haul (we live in Akron) and am starting to fish out of Lorain again this weekend.

Heard the perch have finally started to bite between Avon and Vermilion, when the blow isn't so bad.

We are going to perch fish for a bit by Beaver Park Marina, then head to the SW side of the sandbar to try to pick up some walleye. There haven't been many reports here lately (probably due to the weather). I will post the results on Sunday.

If anyone has any other info between Avon and Vermilion, it would be appreciated.

If you didn't make it out, you didn't miss much. Caught 40+ (10-12 inch) walleye and 4 perch all day. Moved 8 times with no great perch marks. Had good walleye marks and trolled for a bit with no keepers. Stopped when we had good bottom marks and it was nothing but small walleye and white bass.

Outdrive went out on the boat for the second time this year. Tearing it off and winterizing the boat. What a shame with decent weather in October. Oh Well....time to hunt I guess.

Thanks for keeping the reports going!

We were out last Fri 10/14 afternoon and Sat 10/15 till 2pm.
I persuaded the Admiral to try Perch fishing slightly East and West of Vermilion in about 28/30 FOW.
With a total of 18 over the 2 trips she was not impressed!

Can't fish this coming weekend so hoping the weather works for Fri/Sat 10/28 & 10/29.
For sure we will be trolling for Walleye! Need a decent catch :-) .... before the boat comes out :-(
