Clinton Reef Perch Sunday 25SE16

90 perch from 9-12 on Clinton Reef. 22 lbs at cleaners. Bite was finicky this time. Fish are getting bigger! Started at our usual spot 3.2 miles north of Portage river, but too rough to anchor off of the stern. So we opted for the protection of Catawba. Tons of boats North of us, but we had a steady bite on the center of the reef. Another banner day on the lake!
Two random questions:
1. I heard back at the dock that someone got a limit of walleye in two hours off of Niagra casting/ drifting with weight forward spinner. Did anyone else see or hear about this bite coming back?
2. Does anyone know what they are doing with all of the barges, rocks and heavy equipment on the pier head at the mouth of the Portage? Looks like they have something framed up where the Lighthouse used to be.

Is Clinton Reef the shallower water SW of the Catawba Ramp? I show some humps on my chart but it doesn't give a name. What was the water depth?

Yes, it is. We were in 17 FOW. There is a deeper pocket in the middle of the "C" shaped reef area. Try downloading the USA Navionics app for your phone. Except don't leave it on while you are fishing because it drains the battery.
