Headed out Sat evening about 4:30 after wind and lake settled down. Started in 16 feet of water after hearing some reports. First cast, nice 17.5 inch keeper. Picked at some shorts a bit with not many marks. Moved north to 26 feet of water, SW of A can, where had caught some previously. Tons of marks, top to bottom. Wind died, lake flattened, sun came out, and surprisingly bite improved. In next 2-3 hours 3 of us caught I'm sure more than 50 walleye, mostly the bigger 2014 shorts. Ended up keeping 5 decent eaters. Threw back several right at 15 inch mark. Despite lack of fish for the table it was a blast. Those 14-15 inchers have some spunk now and were fun to catch! Very few trash fish to deal with - it was all eyes. Balmy evening, few bugs, waves just lapping at the boat, and a beautiful sunset fishing with my son. I'll take that!
