Another late afternoon/evening trip Monday. Forecast winds light and variable, but the NOAA graphical forecast map showed a cell of 12 mph winds right over A can area about 6 pm. Great I thought, will give us some drift. At dock guy told us got them 500 yards west of A can. Thought it all lined up so headed that direction about 330. Found good marks and caught some shorts, plush trash. Hot, flies, flat. About 6 right on cue saw the ripples coming. Wind kicked up. Clouded over. Perfect I thought, that will cool us off and turn them on. Wrong. Ripples became NE 2-3 footers, 12 mph also had some gusts to 15 I bet and it was blowing whitecaps off tops of all the waves. That was tolerable but all the marks disappeared, as did bite. We made about 3 more moves, never found any more marks, and didn't catch another fish. Headed in at 8 with one keeper. Played this same movie two weeks ago.
