I generally fish the reefs area off Besse. In my experience, if the wind is north or east you can add 1-2 ft to what the Vermillion buoy is showing. If from the south or west you can subtract 1-2 ft...

I've heard several people speak of "out front" recently, but don't know where this is referring to. Can you please explain?

Fished west of intake Wednesday and couldn't get them going in half a dozen spots. Water clear there also - could see spinner blades 10 ft down.

Fished approx. 1 mile west of water intake today - 18 FOW. 55 fish went 16 lbs. Slow bite but steady. Water was fairly clean.

Headed out of Meinke West toward Gravel Pit and stopped once the water started to clear, about 5 miles. 23 FOW. Sorted through quite a few <6" yellows, but also caught some jumbos, most probably 8"....

I don't know the answer, but you're not alone. We managed to pull 8 the first trip out this year, but haven't been able to pull more than 3 per trip since drifting/casting. Last year we hammered them...

Thanks for the input. It'd be nice to have some on the boat to try perch if the walleye won't cooperate and without the hassle of live minnows.
