South Bass Island PIB Fish Cleaning

Was wondering if anyone knew where we could clean fish when staying on the island?

The State Park Campground has (or had) a fish cleaning station, but I think it's for campground guests only. Call them to find out.

There used to be private places, but I haven't checked on them in a few years. Call the Put-In-Bay Chamber of Commerce, they'll know (or should).

PS - this has been a question for some time, as the Island becomes more and more geared to non-fishing visitation so they don't want "stinky unsightly fish cleaning places" in places of public view. I think there used to be a station on the waterfront at the downtown docks, years ago, but I think it was removed.

I stayed there a couple years back and when I asked the dock master where we could clean our fish he looked at me like I had 2 heads... lol

I'll try the state park...

We stay on South Bass every year in May. We rent through Island View and they provide a place to clean our fish and there is a gut dump dumpster by the city garage it's usually pretty rank. Sometimes when it's full they take it away and don't bring it back. Some years the Game Wardens set up video to watch the cleaning table too we've been checked multiple times both inside and outside our rental. Who ever your renting or staying through I'd check with them

I just spoke to the state park on Kellys island and they told me for ten dollars a day you can clean fish or drop off your guts there by the fish cleaning station
