Are they eating catfish out of the lake? I was under the impression you weren't supposed to because the cats eat the mussels.

Don't know if you perch fished lately but many of them I caught in the late fall have zebras in them.

They're all eating gobies which eat zebras as well.

Oh well. I reread the advisory. They just recommend not eating the larger channel cats because they've been eating them for so long. I threw back a 6-7 pound channel cat last year because of it and my wife, being the hillbilly that she is, about chewed my head off until I told her about the advisory.

Edit: I guess I haven't checked the updated advisories lately. It just had channel cats listed as a "once per month" species with no special instructions based on size. So the wife was right to be pissed about the catfish throwback apparently. Now I know for the next time I catch a catfish on Erie, probably 5-10 years from now.
