  1. Thanks for the comeback. Big Pickerel brings back fond memories. On April 5, 1992 Scotty (My first mate) and I had the best first day of the season ever with 23 walleye brought to the boat which included 3 10 lb+ prespawned females which we released (and we still do). Slow drift with jig and minnow. We had picked up 2 strangers at Wild Wings ramp who had a 10 hp on the back of a shallow 12 ft aluminum boat and being concerned about their safety invited them to go with us. To quote them,"Best day ever!

Had some friends out to day 11for 15 big pickerel reef , had 5 10+ lb
  3. I am flattered that I made such an impression on Alexandra. I took one of my granddaughters out on her first walleye trip out of Geneva in Aug. and she caught a 27.5 inch steelhead with no help from me. Hope to see you all at Catawba this coming spring. Stay in touch.

Alexandra wanted me to make sure that we wished you and your family best wishes this holiday season and she can't wait to see you again at the launch in the spring.
  5. What walleye I can find and they are few and far between, are just north of the perch packs off Conneaut. Stinger spoons down 62' (Pink Panties) and shallow diving sticks off dipsies back 130+' might get you some. The white bass are the problem and I don't know how to avoid them.

Just wanted to see if you have been walleye fishing lately. Was gonna try and head out someday this week. Havnt seen many reports lately. Any thoughts on where to go?

Mike Browning, 419-561-0224. My boat is down now, have a brother that can go every other weekend as well if that would help on the gas too. I don't smoke and neither does he, we always pay our way and love good company, offer is well appreciated believe me, I can usually go Fri, Sat or a Sunday. Thanks a lot, Mike
  8. Went out yesterday. Complete reversal. Perch were scattered and the lake was rough in spite of what the marine report said. I ran from the 05.5N line to the 10.0N line and saw few marks. Trolled 3 miles and no walleye. Waves were 4-6 ft and up plus 15 kt winds so 1 hr plus return to ramp. Steelhead tomorrow.
