I'm not the best fisherman around (yet), but the wife and I were able to pull in a 26.5 in walleye while trolling for a couple hours on Memorial day. Lost 1 other fish off the same setup. 85 back on a tru-trip 40 pulling purple worm harness just west of the south side of the sandbar about 7 miles out of Vermilion. Sure would be nice to see more posts in the Central reports. Happy Fishing!

I hear ya. I've been reading about the action on the west end and can't wait for the big schools to move our way. I fish from Fairview Pa. Walnut marina mostly. I might buy an Ohio License, switch boats and fish the big lake sooner.

The reports are few and far between around the central area, maybe because of the weak action. We fished for 4 hours between Huron and vermilion and went 5 for 7 with a bonus 11.7 catfish. Best area was just east of ottos smoke stack. 26 fow 1.5 mph running harnesses off in lines with best being 1 ounce 15 to 40 back. It seems to be picking up. Best part of the day was being stung twice by a wasp while bringing in a fish.

Nice to hear some replies. I understand that the fishing is weak right now, but even last year there really wasn't much information posted. The wife and I will be out about 8am tomorrow, might have to head toward Huron from Vermilion. I will post tomorrow night if we have any luck.
